School News - August 2017

We are busily preparing for the opening of the 2017-2018 school year. Our theme for this year is “Lead Me, Guide Me” based on Isaiah 48:17. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 30th. All are welcome to our opening chapel service at 8:00 a.m. that day.

We are thankful to have the same great teaching staff returning this year. They are as follows: 4K-Renee Griepentrog with Diane Haupt assisting; Kindergarten-Lindsay Meyer; Grade 1-Brenda Kuhnau; Grade 2-Jill Helgerson; Grade 3 and grades K-8 Music -Lori Steingraber; Grade 4-Courtney Clark, Grades 5 & 6 and 5-8 Spanish-Brianna Wilson; Grades 7 & 8 and 5-8 Health-Karen Bahn; Liss VerBerkmoes- 7th & 8th grades’ Literature and Social Studies and grades 3-8 Art; and Beth Hollatz-P.E ,and Computer. Charles Jennings continues as our Athletic Director. Please keep them all in your prayers.

The North Wisconsin District Teachers’ Conference is taking place at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Bonduel on August 11th. Teachers from across our district will meet to collaborate with each other and get renewed for service. This conference is being facilitated by Concordia University Wisconsin.

Immanuel Lutheran is sponsoring a golf scramble to benefit tuition assistance for the school. It is taking place on Sunday, August 20th. If you are interested in participating in the golf scramble, registration forms are available on the church website

We are preparing for our fall soccer season. Practice will begin August 21st. Please contact Mr. Jake Bernarde, soccer coach, or Mr. Charles Jennings, athletic director, if you have any questions about fall sports.

You may register your student anytime during regular office hours. If you are looking for a quality, Christian education, please consider our school. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Parent Orientation Night is set Monday, August 28th at 6:30 p.m. There will be one general session in the church sanctuary followed by breakout sessions in the individual classrooms. There will also be presentations about PTL and athletics as well as our Fast Direct computer system that allows families to view grades and contact classroom teachers.

We are busy in the accreditation process. If you are interested in helping, please give us a call.

School News - May 2017

Our Race for Education will take place on May 12th. There will be a kick-off spaghetti dinner the evening of May 11th. You can purchase tickets for this meal in the office. Thank you for your support of our school. Also, special thanks to Rachelle Meyer for heading up the race committee and all those who are assisting her.

Congratulations to our eighth grade graduates: Kimberly Backaus, Isabella Hebert, Jordyn Helgerson, Kayla Larsen, Caleb Moore, and Rachael Redetzke. The graduation service will take place on Thursday, May 25th at 6:30 p.m. with a cake reception following. Please remember our graduates in your prayers as they move on to their high school years.

Friday, May 26th is the last day of school and our school picnic. We will begin the day with chapel followed by our awards ceremony. During the awards ceremony, the Kindergarten class will be having its own graduation ceremony. The students then will proceed to the gym for yearbook signing, and then we will load the buses to head to the park in Hewitt for our picnic. The students will play games and eat a hot dog lunch provided by PTL as well as desserts and relishes supplied by the school families. You are welcome to join us.

We are enrolling now for the next school year. There are openings in the 4K classes and in grades K-8 as well. If you are looking for a quality, Christian education for your child, please consider Immanuel.

Our theme this year has been “Immanuel: God with Us.” God promises in His Word that He is always with us wherever we go. We pray that our students and families continue in His Word and keep learning more about Him.
