School News - March 2017

March 5-11 is our Lutheran Schools’ Week. This is a time for us to give thanks for the blessings we receive through the teachings of a Christian school. We also get to have a lot of fun!

We kick off Lutheran Schools’ Week with singing at the 5:00 p.m. worship service on Saturday, March 4th. Students should meet at the chapel by 4:45 p.m.

On Monday, we will have chapel at 8:00 a.m. with Beemer from Camp Luther. In the afternoon, we are having a teacher exchange. Teachers will teach a lesson to a grade level that they do not usually teach.

On Tuesday, the students will be going bowling at Rose Bowl Lanes.

On Wednesday, we have our own version of the Amazing Race where the students have to guess clues about the teachers for them to advance throughout the race.

On Thursday, we will be going to Rogers Cinema to see “Monster Trucks.”

On Friday, we will be going to Melody Gardens for roller skating.

On Saturday, our annual Carnival for Christ will run from 10:00-2:00. Come for a time of great fun, food, and fellowship. Tickets for games are on sale in the office and at the door. Carnival proceeds will be going toward gym equipment and classroom needs.

We are blessed to have the youth praise band, Simple Truth, lead our chapel on Wednesday, Mar. 22nd at 8:00 a.m. All are welcome to join us.

March 24th is the end of the 3rd quarter. Report cards will be live on Fast Direct the following Friday.

Grades 7-8 will be heading to Washington D.C. from March 27th to March 31st. Please keep them in your prayers.

We are thankful to the members of Immanuel Lutheran Church for providing our school as a mission outreach to the Marshfield community. We are grateful and honored that we can share Christ with the youth of Marshfield and its surroundings.

In Christ,

Dr. Karen Bahn, Principal

School News - February 2017

We now are into the second semester and are busy planning for the next school year. Please watch the Monthly Memo, and other school publications, about enrollment for next year and information on upcoming open houses. If you know someone who would be interested in the excellent, Christian education we offer here at Immanuel, please encourage them to give us a call or stop by.

The National Accelerated Reader Challenge has begun. Students in LCMS schools read as many books as they can in the six weeks of the challenge. They then take tests through the Accelerated Reader program at each school to earn points. These points are calculated each week to see where students rank. This is a great event and encourages reading. Check the school ramp to see where we rank against other schools.

There is an early dismissal on Wednesday, February 8th for Immanuel students and no school on February 13th for both Immanuel and Marshfield Public. Mid-quarter grades will be on Fast Direct on February 17th

The basketball season will be finishing in February. There are still a few games left. If you are interested in attending a game, please check the Monthly Memo for dates. Go Spartans!

PTL is planning a family movie night for Friday, Feb. 24th. There will be a movie in the fellowship hall along with popcorn and drinks. Afterwards, families are free to go to Christian Skate Night. Hope to see you there!

PTL is also busy preparing for the School Carnival on March 11th during our Lutheran Schools’ Week (Mar. 4-11). Our carnival is a wonderful outreach to the community and a lot of fun! PTL will be taking donations of cakes for our cake walk as well as items for the silent auction. If you are interested in donating items or helping at the carnival, please give us a call. We hope to see you there!

During the month of February, we are often thinking about love. We see hearts and valentines in the stores. The color red is everywhere. The Bible tells us that “God is love” May we share His love to everyone we meet.

In Christ,

Dr. Karen Bahn, Principal
